Fuji Oil Group Policy on Biodiversity

The Fuji Oil Group will work to conserve and restore the natural ecosystem by avoiding or mitigating any negative impact on biodiversity in the value chain with nature-based solutions in order to create a sustainable food system for the future. We will contribute to the global goal of restoring biodiversity by 2030 and the realization of a society in harmony with nature by 2050 through co-creating with our stakeholders.

While our business activities benefit from the richness of natural ecosystems, at the same time business operations have an impact on climate change and biodiversity. Therefore, we recognize that the conservation and restoration of biodiversity to enhance not only the sustainability of the global environment, but also the society's economy, and the Fuji Oil Group is a critical management issue. As a result of this recognition, we have established the following code of conduct to promote biodiversity-conscious business activities.

Code of conduct

  1. Assess the dependence and impact of business activities on biodiversity in the value chain, and work to conserve and restore the natural ecosystem.
  2. Avoid and mitigate any negative impact of business activities on biodiversity, and restore and revitalize biodiversity, throughout the value chain.
  3. Promote innovative research and development to reduce any negative impact on biodiversity and to create business opportunities throughout the value chain.
  4. Comply with national laws and respect international agreements on biodiversity.
  5. Promote stakeholder awareness and support their capacity building.
  6. Respect the rights of indigenous peoples and other social minorities and vulnerable groups.
  7. Promote partnerships with various stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of biodiversity conservation and restoration, and to coexist in harmony with local communities.
