Message from the President

Tatsuji Omori President

Fuji Oil Co., Ltd. is the Japanese regional headquarters of the Fuji Oil Group, which manufactures and sells food ingredients.
We offer food ingredients, the raw materials of foods that everyone consumes in daily life, producing and selling plant-based ingredients such as vegetable oils and fats and soy protein made from plant-based raw materials.

In recent years, the environment surrounding our company has been changing, and with the downgrade of COVID-19 to a common infectious disease, the markets for food service and souvenirs, which had been severely affected by the pandemic, are on the road to recovery, especially thanks to inbound tourism. On the other hand, the company continues to face a tough business environment due to rising energy costs, higher procurement costs caused by the weakening of the yen, and soaring prices of raw materials, as we are forced to rely on imports for many raw materials.
Amidst this drastic change in the business environment, Fuji Oil Group’s vision for 2030 - "Together with our stakeholders, we will co-create a sustainable future for food, based on plant-based ingredients that are both delicious and healthy" - has been revised as the vision of our Group Management Philosophy. With this vision, we will promote the development of problem-solving businesses using plant-based ingredients in order to be reborn as a corporate group that can create new value and respond to uncertain social changes.

We launched GOODNOON as a flagship brand to realize our group vision. What GOODNOON aims to achieve is to provide delicious and easy-to-understand plant-based food products. By pursuing the possibilities of plant-based foods, our aspiration is to realize a food standard for a new era in which we consider the health of people and the earth, and increase the choices of food available so that everyone can truly enjoy their meals. We will sequentially launch a series of GOODNOON products that fulfill the following five requirements: Health of people and community, Innovation, Solution to social issues, Easy to understand, Surprisingly delicious.

MIRA-Dashi, which represents the surprisingly delicious taste of GOODNOON, is a product that delivers the satisfaction inherent in animal-based foods while using plant-based ingredients. We have launched four products, including a new product, and have received a lot of positive feedback, such as tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen broth made with plant-based soup stock. In addition, the soy milk cream butter Soy lait Beurre has been increasingly appreciated not only for its plant-based aspect, but also for its flavor, functionality, and ease of use. We will continue to provide new value in plant-based food ingredients and contribute to the expansion of the market.

Additionally, as a company that handles plant-based raw materials such as palm oil, cocoa, and soybeans, we are aware that the sustainable procurement of product raw materials is an important issue. Our business activities have a significant impact on the social environment, and in order to construct a responsible supply chain, our group has set medium- and long-term goals for sustainable procurement and is actively working to achieve these goals in Japan as well.

For example, we are expanding sales of CACAO QUALY chocolate products that apply our original standard support program, Sustainable Origins, to address issues in cocoa bean production areas. In December of last year, a report describing Sustainable Origins' initiatives and progress was published on our corporate website. In addition to disclosing information on procurement of raw materials, the company is also actively engaged in dietary education activities, mainly for elementary school students.

As a problem-solving company, we are committed to working together with our customers and local communities to sincerely address social and global environmental issues. And through our business, we strive to create new value by solving problems and realize a sustainable future for food.

We sincerely appreciate your continued guidance and support.

President
