The Fuji Oil Group has been actively working to recycle and reuse waste, such as by using the sludge generated by wastewater treatment at our factories for fertilizer. Looking at the performance of all Fuji Oil Group companies in Japan, including Fuji Oil, in fiscal 2009, the total volume of waste discharged was 15,748 tons, a decrease of 7.0% (approximately 1,181 tons) from the previous year. Of the Fuji Oil Group's 12 production facilities in Japan*, 10 facilities have achieved zero emissions, and the entire Fuji Oil Group will continue to work toward the goal of achieving zero emissions at all of our plants. *Including Fuji Oil
