Participation in the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)

RSPO is an international non-profit organization established to promote sustainable growth for the palm oil industry. Its operations are based on the principle that the production and use of palm oil must be economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. As a high-value-added vegetable oil, palm oil is used in a wide variety of applications, and steadily growing demand has led to various environmental and social problems, such as harsh labor conditions and deforestation of tropical rainforests for the development of plantations. RSPO was established to address those problems. The Fuji Oil Group uses palm oil to produce vegetable oils and fats, and we were quick to become an Ordinary Member of RSPO in 2004, the same year the organization was established. We cooperate with this organization to promote an environmentally and socially responsible palm oil industry.
